Golf Futures And FanDuel’s Masters Fantasy Game Tiding Over Fans This Month

[ad_1]

This time of year was supposed to be mecca for sports bettors and fans alike: the NCAA tournament leading into the Masters, officially teeing off the string of golf’s four majors. Alas, the coronavirus pandemic struck. And our thirst for spring golf went unquenched.

While The R&A has decided to cancel rather than postpone The Open, the other three majors have found new dates. The first will get going in early August. Bookmakers still have open golf sports betting markets for those tourneys’ winners. But major championship golf still remains four months away.

Fear not, however. Not all is lost.

FanDuel offering Masters simulation pool

We won’t have the Masters in April for the first time since the tournament’s inception in 1934. Astounding.

But FanDuel is keeping alive the tradition unlike any other.

Through the Masters fantasy golf game, participants can select a lineup of current golfers, past legends and even movie characters. The $10K PGA Sims Free Play Contest will then involve a simulation of the 2020 Masters tournament.

Each hole for every golfer will run through the numberFire simulator, which factors in distance and player skill, among other variables.

Players will have a $60,000 salary cap at their disposal and will use that money to fill out a six-golfer lineup. Lineups lock on Thursday, April 9 at noon ET. Winners of this free-to-play game will receive site credit.

So finally, debates can be settled: Could Happy Gilmore go toe-to-toe with Jack Nicklaus? Could Tiger Woods outlast Roy McAvoy? And how long could Judge Smails last in the same group as John Daly?

Three of four golf majors rescheduled

Organizers have already rescheduled three of golf’s four majors, setting up a monstrous fall lineup:

  • PGA Championship: Aug. 6-9
  • US Open: Sept. 17-20
  • Masters: Nov. 12-15

As it stands, each tournament will admit fans. Similarly, the FedEx Cup will run from Aug. 10 to Sept. 7. To boot, the Ryder Cup expects to take place a week after the US Open.

Combine this with football season, and we are in for one heck of a fall season.

Checking in on golf futures

Many books list Rory McIlory as the favorite in all three majors, a common trend over the past few years. After all, McIlroy remains a prolific player and needs only the Masters green jacket to complete the career grand slam. That said, he has not won a major tournament since 2014.

Other favorites include:

  • Brooks Koepka: four major titles since 2017
  • Dustin Johnson: US Open winner in 2016
  • Justin Thomas: claimed PGA Championship in 2017
  • Jon Rahm: four top-10 finishes at major tournaments over the past two years (no wins)
  • Tiger Woods: 15-time major champion, three shy of all-time record held by Jack Nicklaus

Who Invented the T-Ball Game?

[ad_1]

For those who are somewhat unsure as to what the term T-Ball denotes. It is not baseball as a rule. However, it is a unique type of sport. It is directly taken from baseball and is an introduction to youngsters as a fun means to go about learning baseball skills.

The baseball coaching of T-Ball involves teaching young boys and girls baseball as part of the regular teaching regimen overall. Kids have a great deal of fun learning T-ball while picking up all the general things that are associated with the game of baseball. It is also a very effective way for children who are too young to play in actual baseball to be able to learn baseball skills for a lifetime and to face many of the very same challenges that baseball poses.

The generic name is T-Ball but the trademark name is officially registered as Tee Ball. This is just one of the many interesting facts that give this fascinating sport broad appeal. Nevertheless, amid the many curiosities that do surround T-Ball, one that does stand out is exactly who was the person or persons that invented the T-Ball game? Who is the actual father to this game?

The game’s origins date back to the 1940s and the 1950s. However, numerous people claim that they were the inventors of it. Who are the people and or places that claim to be the beginning of T-Ball? One of the first of these in mention is no other than Albion, Michigan, that states that the sport was in creation there exclusively in 1956. However, there is also another town that lays claim to this as well and that town is no other than Starkville, Mississippi. Starkville, Mississippi says that their town is where Tee Ball was born in 1961. In addition, Claude Lewis, who was the director of Warner Robins, put together a t-ball league of his own back in 1958. Claude Lewis was with the Georgia Recreation Department and he was the designed the rulebooks for this new game.

So who did actually invent the T-Ball game? As it was stated here, many take credit, apparently, for this specific honor, but to say who exactly is the inventor is something that must first be examined up close. A person cannot even begin to attempt to make an assumption as to who it was specifically from the evidence here. Therefore all one can do is present the main contenders and draw a personal conclusion from there.

However, before that can be explored further, a little more about Tee Ball needs to be talked about as a sport upfront. It is very interesting, offers young children so much from a baseball perspective, and gives them something that they will always have with them. One of the differences between t-ball and baseball is obvious and that is that there is usually not the presence of a pitcher. A pitcher is required only for defense purposes. However, part of baseball coaching for some t-ball clubs, adult coaches do employ baseball pitching to some of its boy and girl players by pitching them balls so they can try to get a hit before using the tee. This approach helps those who need it the most to develop better batting ability.

Even though the T-Ball coaching is different from the sport of baseball in a number of ways, the overall objective of t-ball and baseball are pretty much the same in that both train players to be the best that they can be. Baseball pitching in t-ball involves the usage of a tee that is set on top of the home plate to suit the height of the specific batter. Some of the rules that govern t-ball also vary from that of baseball and the playing field is smaller too.

Now back to who invented the t-ball game? The trademark for Tee Ball was originally in registration with the United States government in the early 1970s by a man by the name of Dr. Dayton Hobbs. Dr. Hobbs openly credited the United States Navy for being responsible for the introduction of t-ball overseas. Dr. Hobbs was a man who had been coaching baseball for kids since the 1950s. It is said that he was the one who created t-ball baseball and promoted the game. This promotion brought interest in the game that only grew and grew over time. Was Dr. Hobbs the sole creator of t-ball? One can only guess.

The t-ball game’s connection with Albion, Michigan, is also said to have been created by Coach Jerry Sacharski who came up with the game in the summer of 1956 for youngsters between the ages of six and eight to play. T-Ball was called by the locals in Albion as Pee Wee Baseball and was employed by the coach to teach boys the basics of regular baseball such as batting, pitching, and the like. Did Coach Sacharski invent t-ball? Again, only one can guess.

The claim for t-ball credit is also claimed by the town of Starkville, Mississippi. Another man by the name of John Zareas, 75, also attests to being the father of tee ball. He also had a book published in 1965, which is all about tee ball rules for youngsters in 1965. Are any of these also valid claims? It is still anyone’s guess.

Thank God that they did create such a great form of baseball that is not really baseball. Because kids love it and that is what counts the most.

Besides this fact, it is not just a sport per se; it is also lasting preparation methods from a baseball coaching and a baseball hitting perspective for youngsters as well.

Regular Season Game Before The All-Star Break Points Out Current Problems Ignored By MLB Officials

[ad_1]

In a very clear way, the 2018 All-Star game in Washington D.C. last week was representative of the current state of the sport of baseball. The ten home runs hit set an all-time record for the Midsummer Classic, nearly twice as many as the previous high of six.

That long ball production is indicative of the season, which is on pace to see more home runs than any other year in baseball ‘s long history. That statistic is not the only record that will be eclipsed in 2018, and the All-Star game reflected that as well.

Players are striking out twenty five percent of the time now, a frequency that will result in a record number of strikeouts in 2018. It came as no surprise then that the pitchers in the Midsummer Classic fanned twenty five batters in total.

Just as that highly promoted contest highlighted the sport’s reliance on the homerun and the strike out, it was another game a week earlier that served as a microcosm of some of baseball’s biggest problems. Commissioner Rob Manfred and the officials around the sport would rather ignore that game, which would be easy to do considering how few people actually saw it.

The Tampa Bay Rays played the Marlins in Miami on July Third, an intrastate battle that should have created all kinds of excitement in the home of Spring Training and three pennants. To underscore the serious attendance problem baseball has had there for over two decades, only six thousand people were in attendance.

The game itself went sixteen innings, dragged on almost six hours, and featured forty four different batters between the two clubs. Eighteen different pitchers took the mound, in addition to the three others who were called up on to pinch hit and or play a position at some point during the Sunshine State Bore-a-thon.

When it finally ended, an estimated two hundred fans remained in the seats. Miami’s front office rewarded those few loyal souls by handing out two free tickets to each one.

A better gift for them, and most other baseball fans, would be for the sport to adapt the extra innings rule started in the Minors this year. If tied after nine innings, each team starts the extra frame with a runner on second. That situation would almost guarantee that a game would be decided long before the sixteen innings it took before Tampa Bay finally beat Miami.

Besides reinforcing the fact that games are too long, that night also exposed another issue that plagues the sport. It must force the National League to adopt the designated hitter rule.

Because they were playing at Miami, the Rays had to allow their pitchers to hit. This stipulation might not be a new problem for the starting pitchers, who have been used to getting at least one plate appearance in an inter league game on the road.

However, having to bat poses a real problem for the multitude of relievers on the staff, for most of them never swing a club all season. What can happen when they are forced into such a role, is exactly what happened to a Tampa reliever that night.

Left hander Vidal Nuna injured a hamstring while running to first base after hitting a grounder, causing him to be placed on the ten day disabled list. The injury would never have occurred had baseball enforced a universal DH rule, and it also might have been avoided had the extra innings rule been used at the Big League level instead of just the Minors.

The Game of Betting Assassin

[ad_1]

It can be pretty hard to look at an author’s website and compare it to your own life. You probably work a regular nine to five job that can be tough at times. Then you go and see a website such as John Taylor’s Betting Assassin and suddenly you have the urge to go out and place some sports bets. The problem is that you have to work for a living and do not even know how to place sports bets. Taylor claims that his eBook and course will solve those problems for you. You just have to follow his advice.

Betting Assassin is another sports gambling eBook or course in a long line of competitors. There really should be a betting system on how many claims these authors can make. All, including Taylor, seem to be raking in the cash when it comes to betting on sporting events. And every single one claims that you can make that kind of money as well.

Some of the authors show flashy websites filled with lots of bling and testimonials. Some of the authors of these types of ebooks all claim to drive the most expensive sports car on the market. And all claim that they rake in the huge dough each and every time they hit the bookie. But you have to dig deeper if you want the real truth about their system. Unfortunately, with most of these ebooks you have no way of knowing what that system is unless you purchase the ebook, course or buy a membership.

John Taylor claims he was an average guy who went to graduate school. This seems to be a common theme; these gurus of the sports gambling world are all statistical geniuses. Taylor, like all the others, seemed to hate his life as well. Is no one happy with their careers anymore? Obviously not, as now they are producing ebooks on how to get rich betting on sporting games. Taylor does give away some of his tips, such as not betting on every single game. That is a bit refreshing because many other authors would have you gamble on all the games you could. And with their system eventually you would win but how much would you lose?

Is the Betting Assassin offering you anything new? Is John Taylor really an expert at cracking the code and giving you the statistical odds of winning? That really is in doubt. You can try the system he has devised because in the end you are really not losing that much. It would be the same as placing a bet because that is what you are doing with any sports gambling ebook; you are taking a gamble that the system the author has designed will really work for you.

What is a Circled Game Mean in a Sports Betting Event?

[ad_1]

Visitors to Las Vegas or online sportsbooks may come across some games on the betting board that will have special rules attached in the betting. Such games will be circled on the betting board. A red box means that the line is “circled” and subject to reduced betting limits.

Often time’s sportsbooks will circle games on the betting board due to injuries to impact players. NFL teams competing on Sunday’s must submit their injury reports on Friday and provide updates on Saturday. In recent years the NFL adopted a rule forcing teams to disclose on Wednesday through Friday who missed practice and who had limited work during practice. The best practice for sports betting professionals would be to browse individual team websites that post the injury and practice information about the health of their players.

The injury reports have been very accurate in recent years because the NFL wants to protect the integrity of the league because inside information on injuries could be exploited. So teams have been very forthcoming about the health of their players. Injuries to impact players like the starting quarterback, running back and impact wide receivers will cause Las Vegas and online sportsbook to circle the game on the sports betting board until their status come game time is determined. Sharp sports bettors follow the best practice of shopping individual sports books to shop for the odds that are best set on the side they want to bet on.

Sometimes Las Vegas or online sportsbooks may miss important injury information on teams and a smart bettor may bet into a good betting number that favors the bettor. Professional gamblers look for knee, foot and ankle injuries to running backs. A running back who is not 100% healthy and playing with ankle, foot or knee injuries will see their average yards per carry often fall well below their average. This puts the offense in second and third and long situations or what is known as obvious passing situations. Defenses who know the pass is coming can adjust into pass coverage creating less space for the wide receivers to run routes making a pass completion by the quarterback much more difficult which raises the possibility of a turnover. With a capable back up running back it is often better for a team to not play a running back that sports ankle, knee or foot injuries. Many professional sports bettors will look to play against a team who is starting an impact running back who is playing with an ankle, foot or knee injury.

If inclement weather is forecasted for the site of an outdoor game a sportsbook will circle the game and bettors will have betting limits reduced on the game up until about an hour until game time. Wind can factor greatly in the passing game and the best practice for professional sports bettors will look to play under in college and pro football if the betting line has not already been bet down. There are times when the professional has the inclement weather information before the Las Vegas or online sportsbook and this is a scenario when they make advantage bets.

Many sports bettors will find NBA games circled on the Las Vegas or online sports betting board. Often times an NBA team will report a mild ailment from a player in their rotation and list them as questionable or doubtful. Smart betting professionals will tune into NBA team’s pregame show 30 minutes prior to the start of the game to get specific injury information about teams impact players on their rotation. In the NBA if an impact player is lost to injury the replacement player will often step up and the team will have point spread success in the first game the team plays without their impact player in the lineup.

A line may be circled when factors other than game play (e.g., injuries or weather conditions) could affect the outcome of the game. As many bookmakers don’t have enough information on the game and can’t accurately balance the action as it comes in, circled lines can’t be added to a parlay. Some online or Las Vegas sportsbooks may have too much action on one side of the game and even with a line move they cant attract action on the other team. Most sportsbook business models are set to attempt to balance trade on all games and protect their bottom line. Most sportsbooks try to attempt to have all of their lines un-circled. The red box may be removed closer to the start of the game.
